The achievements and sustainability of the Port Douglas Community Service Network Inc and many other not for profit organisations rely heavily on volunteers. If you want to give back to the local community, make new friends, and develop your skills, we encourage you to volunteer.
If you have a Queensland SPER debt we can also help you to reduce or eliminate this debt through volunteering.

We work in partnership with Douglas Grass and Roots Volunteer Network to connect volunteers with opportunities that suit their availability, skills, and interests. The aim is to create an inclusive and thriving volunteering culture by providing a sound framework to underpin and support the volunteer sector in the Douglas Shire.

We welcome volunteers in any capacity they can offer. No matter your skills, age, gender, ethnicity, accessibility, or background, we will help you to find a role that suits you.

We are happy to welcome one off volunteers for a huge array of tasks. Whether it be gardening, painting, cooking, setting up for an event, washing dishes, running a workshop, helping in an emergency, or something else, there is always plenty of tasks you can volunteer to do.
If you can spare a few hours a week or more, we have opportunities for you to volunteer. Whether it’s manning the reception desk, helping with a regular activity, running a workshop, picking up donations and doing tip runs, posting on social media, bookkeeping, grant applications, or something else, we welcome you to apply to be a volunteer.
“I love volunteering with you, you do an incredible job, proud to be part of it.”

“I have been a volunteer at PDNC for the last 4 years and thoroughly enjoy being part of their volunteer team.
Everyone at PDNC is friendly, helpful and supportive, staff and fellow volunteers alike. There are a variety of different options available for volunteering your time. In particular I enjoy being part of the OzHarvest food program on Wednesday mornings, but have helped out with cooking at the Fortnightly Foodies and other one-off activities. Volunteering gives me a purpose and I love being able to make a difference where I can. If you are thinking of volunteering, my advice is, come, try it out and the PDNC is a great place to start.”
